Phil Laak has busted out of the World Series of Poker Main Event on Day 3.
He started his 3rd day of the Championship Event as a short stack with about $15,000 in chips.
He was able to find a spot to get all his money into the middle with AQ suited. He was up against QQ and was going to need some help. Luckily, he turned the flush and survived, doubling up to about $23,000.
Still needing more chips to get back into the tournament and looking for a good spot, he found one when he was dealt AK suited and made his move again. He was once again up against QQ but this time the board brought him no help and the Unabomber’s Main Event run came to an end.
He enjoyed the great tournament atmosphere that is part of the WSOP and tweeted that “It was a great ride.”
Make sure to look out for him on ESPN’s World Series of Poker broadcast as he was seated at the 2nd featured table on Day 2 of the Main Event.
